Why You Should Choose Brazil For Your Next Vacation

When it comes to vacation-planning, there’s a good chance you’ve considered Europe, Japan, Canada, or any one of the fifty U.S. states. For tropical, often beach-related holidays, many people opt for Cancun, Belize, or Costa Rica. Most hot spots started off as inexpensive finds, where the locals were friendly and welcoming. Over time, though, prices start to rise and local resentment builds. Excursions are “canned” and even the tour operators have slipped into an “expedition coma”. The locations are just collecting the checks. Ever wonder what it would be like to be an “early discoverer”? Since the 1970s, Ubatuba has been a top domestic tourist destination in Brazil. It’s 102+ beaches, activities, and burgeoning ecotourism make it the ideal vacation spot for people of all ages. Activities like whale-watching, hiking, swimming at waterfalls, island exploration, zip lines, jeep rides – and of course surfing and diving – are all available. Culture aficionados can travel back in time to visit the preserved colonial town of Paraty and mingle with the locals, who love any chance to practice their English. Schooner and fast boat trips are available daily. Travelers often ask about safety. Ubatuba is a relaxed town of about 90,000 genial residents, not a resort. Tourists share beaches with local families and the atmosphere is one of fun, enjoyment, and safety. All major airlines fly to São Paulo for reasonable fares, and unlike time-zone-crossing trips to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East jet lag is not an issue. At Sampa Tour, we’re happy to answer any of your questions about travel to this paradise. We’re the experts. We have roots and friends here and speak the language. Trust us when we say there is no place that we feel more comfortable bringing our friends and family. “Making Paradise your personal vacation destination!” Tom

Brazil and Accessibility

When it comes to making the world accessible, Brazil has always been at the forefront. As early adopters of parking for the handicapped, many Brazilian companies now reserve parking spaces for pregnant women and the elderly. Buses have seats especially dedicated for accessibility as codified by law. Riders are obligated to relinquish these seats to qualifying people. Perhaps the most interesting accessibility aids are tactile flooring bump dots, which provide pathways for the blind and visually impaired. Tactile flooring is ubiquitous in Brazil, showing up in airports, museums (pictured), bus stations, and anywhere else that experiences high foot traffic. Brazil continues to be a leader when it comes to caring for its compromised citizens, and this compassion is also increasingly evident in attitudes about the population at large, the environment, and visitors. Brazilian Visas

Beginning April 10, 2025, the Brazilian government will require Americans, Australians, and Canadians to have visas to travel to Brazil. Fear not, though; the process is pretty painless both in terms of time and money. I would normally start with the online address, but there are a few things you need to have ready first: As usual, You Tube is a great source of information for a how-to like this. We recommend starting with this short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cotk7SGi8aY. Go to the visa website: www.bronline.vfsevisa.com. The screen shown below will appear. After entering the initial data, click on the “Sign Up” link. A 5-digit code called an OTP will be sent to your email inbox. Once you enter that OTP in the designated field, you can begin the application. Mine was very smooth from that point on, and my visa arrived by email within two days. Note: There is a place in the process where you can trim down your picture to the specs required for the visa. The visa instructions ask for specific pixel counts but don’t let that worry you. The pixel counts for the x- and y-directions will be displayed as you bring in your photo. It should be pretty easy, but if you encounter any hitches we can help you. Finally, the site will ask for your visa application fee. The fee is $80.00 plus an additional $0.90 for the servicing fee. Total is $80.90 and you will receive an emailed receipt instantaneously. It will look like this: Be advised that you DO NOT have to have your airline ticket in order to obtain your visa. While the visa is valid for 10 years, the holder is limited to maximum continuous stays of 90 days. Contact us with any questions. Sampa Tour(281) 814-0093info@sampatour.com
